We study insects, bats and other animals in Coastal Sage Scrub habitats in preserves and garden sites around San Diego County using various non-lethal techniques.
The San Diego Pollinator Monitoring Program (SDPMP) was established in 2019 by Christina Simokat at CSU San Marcos (CSUSM) to assess the effectiveness of native plant gardens in supporting pollinators and to provide high-impact learning experiences for students. Over the past five years, SDPMP has expanded its research footprint across San Diego County, engaging in innovative methodologies and forming key conservation partnerships.
